A recovery in business jet and turboprop deliveries pushed billings by general aviation manufacturers up by almost 17% in the first half of 2004, although shipments were down by almost 2% over the same period last year. An 11.1% jump in turboprop deliveries (to 110 aircraft) and 2.6% rise in jet shipments (to 240 units) drive the higher billings, while a 4.4% drop in piston deliveries (to 773 aircraft) was responsible for the overall drop in shipments, according to the General Aviation Manufacturers Association.
