General Electric has finalised the international teaming arrangements for the GEnx engine for the Airbus A350 and Boeing 7E7.
The group of five companies will assume a combined 36% share of the programme, which is to run the first full engine in 2006. The largest portion of the shareholding is taken by Ishikawajima Harima Heavy Industries and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries of Japan, with 15% between them. They will be responsible for the low-pressure turbine rotating components, module assembly, compressor aerofoils, mid-fan shaft and combustor casing. The second largest share is held by Italy's Avio, which will contribute the gearbox, low-pressure turbine static parts, casing and lubrication system as part of its 12%. Volvo Aero, with 6%, will make the fan hub frame, turbine rear frame and low-pressure compressor spool. Techspace Aero (3%) will make the low-pressure compressor stators.
