BAE Systems has promoted Chris Geoghegan to chief operating officer in charge of operational, capital and shared services businesses. BAE has two other chief operating officers, Mark Ronald (North America) and Steve Mogford (programmes). Geoghegan's new post was left vacant when Michael Turner was promoted to chief executive, replacing John Weston, last month. Geoghegan's former position as managing director of the avionics group will be taken by Nick Franks, currently managing director Gripen and South Africa.
