Georgian and Russian authorities have outlined steps for restoring scheduled services after a six-year suspension of bilateral air links.
The proposal envisages both sides designating domestic carriers for scheduled operations between the two countries by 1 September, says Georgia's ministry of economy.
Deputy minister Natia Mikeladze cites a recently adopted joint memorandum which proclaims the need to resume regular air services suspended six years ago.
Russia's foreign office has suggested signing an agreement with a view to introducing scheduled Moscow-Tbilisi flights on 15 September, followed by routes between other city pairs shortly afterwards.
S7 Airlines and Georgian Airways have only operated charter flights since the military conflict between the two countries in August 2008.
