Northrop Grumman will modernise the air-traffic-control system of Georgia under a $16 million contract. The financing is being guaranteed by the US Export-Import Bank, the first for Georgia, which plans to repay the loan through revenue generated by overflight fees. Equipment to be provided includes two monopulse secondary surveillance radars and an airspace-management system.
