Passenger traffic at Germany's international airports grew by 7.3% in 1994, compared with the previous year. Freight was up by 11.1%. According to the Association of German Airports, passenger figures reached 101 million, breaking the 100 million mark for the first time. Freight traffic grew to over 1.7 million tonnes. The increase in aircraft movements totaled 3%, at 1.75 million takeoffs and landings.
