Australian carrier Alliance Airlines appears to be sourcing its latest batch of Fokker 100 aircraft from Germany's Germania.
Alliance says it is taking eight twin-jets from a European company but has not identified which.
But an aircraft trading source familiar with the situation says the jets are coming from Berlin-based Germania which has eight of the type in storage.
Germania could not immediately comment, stating that the jets are still formally connected with the Germania Express operation which began phasing out the type in favour of Boeing 737s.
The Germania Fokker 100s, aged between 19 and 21 years, are powered by Rolls-Royce Tay 650 engines.
Brisbane-based Alliance has signed a letter of intent to take eight Fokkers from May this year.
