Low-cost operator germanwings is launching eight new routes out of its Cologne/Bonn base, including Bologna and Venice in Italy; Thessaloniki in Greece; Izmir in Turkey; Prague and Edinburgh. The final route is to Dresden, which marks a second domestic service after Berlin Tegel. The move comes shortly after rival Hapag-Lloyd Express launched six new routes from Cologne/Bonn, plus three from Hanover.
