The German air force has taken delivery of its first of 28 single-seat Eurofighter strike aircraft contained within its 44-unit Tranche 1 production order for the type. The aircraft's acceptance at EADS's Manching manufacturing site on 14 February followed the company's earlier delivery of eight twin-seat Eurofighters to support the type's introduction into air force service at Laage airbase (Flight International, 5-11 October 2003). Eurofighter partner nations Germany, Italy and Spain have all now taken delivery of their first production single seaters, with the UK Royal Air Force set to accept its first example at BAE Systems' Warton plant early next month.
