Germany's BGT has received a €1 billion ($1.3 billion) contract for the series production of more than 4,000 IRIS-T short-range air-to-air missiles for Germany, Greece, Italy, Norway, Spain and Sweden. Signed by Germany's BWB procurement agency on 20 December, the contract covers production of weapons for integration with Boeing F/A-18, Eurofighter Typhoon, Lockheed Martin F-16, Panavia Tornado and Saab JAS39 Gripen fighters.
