Paris visitors looking to get ‘lean’ can arrange a free assessment by visiting KM&T at the Midlands Aerospace Alliance (MAA) stand. KM&T (Knowledge, Management & Transfer) is one of the world’s leading exponents of the lean philosophy, offering professional advice in the practical use of lean thinking and lean Sigma.
The Coventry, UK-based company opens a Brussels office this month (June) to allow consultants to meet the demands of an ever-growing client base. If follows the opening of an office in Sydney two years ago.

“This is the first time we’ve exhibited at an airshow,” says operations director Adrian Jones.
“We’re offering people a free assessment of their facility, with structured feedback that they can use to improve their manufacturing processes.

Cost-quality
“Areas we look at include engineering, maintenance, planning, cost-quality delivery and safety measurables.”
Lean methodologies enable organisations to produce cost-effective and efficient ways of generating savings, increasing profitability and return on business investments in a reduced timescale.

KM&T’s practitioners have gained their knowledge by using the Toyota business model within a wide range of business sectors, including aerospace. Clients who have benefited from their approach include BAE Systems, Qantas and Rolls-Royce.
Managing director Steve Boam says: “An increasing number of sectors are recognising the benefits of lean when it comes to improving efficiency, safety and performance, and that recognition is translated into demand for our services.
