Pacific East Asia Cargo (PEAC) says it is ready to resume flight operations with services to Hong Kong once Philippine authorities grant approval.

The Philippine carrier, which previously operated TNT's network in the region, was to resume operations after a two-year hiatus on 1 December, but bureaucratic delays at the Philippine Civil Aeronautics Board have left the carrier in the dark, unable to say exactly when services will commence.

PEAC plans a six-times-weekly service to Hong Kong from its base at Diosdado Macapagal Airport, using an Airbus A300B4 freighter wet-leased from Turkish carrier MNG Airlines a year. The aircraft is parked in Hong Kong, waiting for operations to commence.

PEAC hopes to launch services to at least two other undisclosed destinations within Asia. If these are successful PEAC may lease another A300B4.
