A company planning to develop a commercial airport near the Whistler ski resort in British Columbia, Canada, has selected as its fixed-base operator (FBO) Glavin Flying, which operates an FBO at Boeing Field, Seattle.
Prime Air has a 30-year lease to operate Pemberton airport, about 30km from Whistler, a leading North American ski resort.
The company expects services to begin between Pemberton and Vancouver in the first half of next year under an agreement with Ontario-based Voyageur Airways, with plans to extend services to Boeing Field soon after. Voyageur will use 46-seat de Havilland Dash 7s. Prime Air expects the handling of private and executive aircraft visiting Whistler to be a substantial source of income.
