Go, the UK low fare spin-off of British Airways, has revealed its initial route network and confirmed plans to launch in late May with a simple fare pricing structure.

Sales and marketing director David Magliano says that services will be launched on 22 May from London Stansted with three 148-seat Boeing 737-300s (leased from GE Capital Aviation Services) operating two daily services (each weekday) to Rome Ciampino, with similar frequencies being added to Milan Malpensa from 23 May and to Copenhagen from 5 June. The fleet will grow to eight aircraft during 1998 and further destinations will be announced "during the summer," says Magliano. Other destinations believed to be on Go's agenda include Stockholm and points in France and Spain.

Initially, Go has adopted a simple one-price ticket policy of £100 ($168) return, regardless of flight and booking time.

The airline's first three destinations avoid direct competition with easyJet, the London Luton based low fare airline which has issued a writ against BA over unfair competition. An initial high court hearing date has been set for 11 May.

Go will compete directly on the London-Rome route with Luton's other low fare airline, Debonair, which from 6 April started operating the Paris-Brussels shuttle on behalf of Air France.
