The final Lockheed Martin Atlas 1 booster launched the Geostationary Orbiting Environmental Satellite, GOES-K, from Cape Canaveral, Florida, on 25 April. Designated the GOES 10, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration spacecraft will be an in-orbit spare, complementing the GOES 8 and 9 craft launched in 1994/5. The Lockheed and ILS International Launch Services Atlas fleet now consists of 2, 2A and 2AS models, while an uprated 2AR is under development.
