Brazilian low-fare carrier Gol Transportes A‚reos has ordered 15 Boeing 737-800s, and taken purchase rights on a further 28 airframes by 2010. Airline sources say the deal is valued at $2.55 billion if the options are exercised and will be financed by the US Ex-Im Bank, including a $192 million package for the supply of CFM56-7 engines. The first of the 15-aircraft firm order is to be handed over to Gol in 2007.
