Russian missile house Antey has started deliveries of the Tor-M1 (SA-15 Gauntlet) surface-to-air-missile to Greece. The nation signed a $100 million deal for 21systems in October 1998, becoming the first NATO member to order a Russian-built SAM system. The army will use the tracked- vehicle mounted system for short-range - 12km (7 miles) - radar-guided missile operations for low and medium altitude air defence.
