Greenpoint Technologies has delivered to an undisclosed VIP customer the first Aeroloft installation for a 747-8 Boeing Business Jet. The handover took place at Boeing's Global Transport & Executive Systems facility in Wichita, Kansas, on 27 August. Afterwards, the aircraft was flown by BBJ president Steve Taylor and BBJ chief pilot Rene Gonzales to Lufthansa Technik in Hamburg, Germany, for completion of its VIP interior. The aircraft is scheduled to enter service in 2014.
The Aeroloft was developed specifically for the BBJ 747-8 and features eight private sleeping berths in the aft, upper section of the fuselage. Greenpoint has two more Aerolofts scheduled for delivery in 2012.
