Arianespace has won a contract to launch the Koreasat 3 communications satellite in 1999. The Lockheed Martin craft will carry 46 Ka- and Ku-band transponders and will weigh 2,790kg at lift-off. The contract brings to 46 the number of satellites to be launched by Arianespace.
