Gulf Air has now formally cancelled its outstanding orders for four Airbus A320s, powered by the CFM56-5 engine. The airline operates a fleet of 14 A320s, and delivery of the final four aircraft had already been deferred to 1998-9. The move is part of a restructuring programme at the airline, which is aimed at reducing costs.
