Gulf Air chief executive Andre Dose has resigned from his post after replacing James Hogan in the role in April this year.
The decision follows a board meeting on Monday 23 July at which Dose’s future at the airline was discussed along with the status of the in-depth restructuring programme he initiated shortly after taking over.
Gulf Air’s board has not given any details as to the reasons for the sudden move, nor indicated precisely when Dose will step down.
“It has been mutually decided that Andre Dose will leave the company in accordance with the terms of his employment contract,” says a statement from the board.
Dose joined the Bahrain-based airline at the beginning of April. The carrier had endured a seven-month period without a permanent chief after Dose’s predecessor, James Hogan, left the company the previous September.
Within a few days of taking over the loss-making company Dose oversaw the creation of a project to simplify Gulf Air’s structure and increase the efficiency of its flight operations.
