Bahrain carrier Gulf Air has promoted chief financial officer Ismail Karimi to the role of deputy CEO.

Karimi, who has been with Gulf Air for over 15 years, will deputise for new Gulf Air CEO Bjorn Naf and assist in formulating the strategic direction for the carrier.

Naf says Karimi was “the clear choice for the position”. He adds: “We anticipate being able to make similar top management announcements over the coming months.”
