Gulfstream has certificated an inflight email and internet capability for the G200 super mid-size business jet. The high-speed data system uses a Thrane & Thrane Aero-HSD+ Inmarsat satellite communications unit and fuselage-mounted Chelton HGA-7000 antenna to provide two Swift64 channels with a combined speed of 129kb/s. The system is available for retrofit and as an option on new G200s. Lyngby, Denmark-based Thrane & Thrane, meanwhile, has signed a memorandum of agreement to provide satellite communications systems for Dassault Falcon business jets. The deal initially covers the Aero-HSD+ high-speed data unit, but will include future satellite communications systems, says Thrane & Thrane. The Aero-HSD+ system has already been installed on the Falcon 50EX, 2000EX and 900EX.
