In search of a sponsor, Daniel Pauchard has brought a model remote control gyrocopter to the Paris air show.

It has taken inventor Pauchard ten years to perfect his design. The small model on the Chambre de Commerce Industrie Paris stand (Hall 3/C6) is a quarter of the true size.

The Gyronef uses a helicopter engine and looks a bit like a flying saucer on skids.

Aiming at the domestic market, Pauchard already has three orders for when he starts production this September.

"I have developed three models, one-seater, two-seater and a remote control version, all of which are easy to use," he says.

"It has been described as a cross between a moped and a helicopter, but the important thing is it can fly from anywhere - even from your garden."
