Hong Kong Aircraft Engineering (HAECO) has signed a 20-year franchise with the Airport Authority to provide base and line maintenance at Chek Lap Kok Airport. HAECO is to invest HK$1.4 billion ($181.8 million), including a 220m (700ft)-long three-bay hangar due for completion in April 1998.
