Hindustan Aeronautics (HAL) reports that sales grew by 10%,to $493 million, over the last financial year to March 1997. Although the bulk of sales are within India, the state-owned company managed exports of $9.5 million and expects that to rise this year because of $20 million-worth of work contracted by Boeing.
