The Commercial Aviation Corporation of China (Comac) has chosen Hamilton Sundstrand to supply the electric power generation and distribution systems for its C919 aircraft.
The contract is worth more than $1 billion over the life of the programme, says Hamilton Sundstrand.
"Hamilton Sundstrand is honoured to work with Comac to provide the electric system on the new C919 aircraft," says its president Alain Bellemare. "With this agreement, Hamilton Sundstrand continues to play a large role in the Chinese aviation industry's rapid growth."
The Connecticut-based company, a subsidiary of United Technologies, is also a systems supplier for Comac's ARJ21 regional jet.
"We are very pleased to work with Hamilton Sundstrand on our C919 programme," says Comac chairman Zhang Qingwei. "Its proven aerospace technology will enable us to build a very competitive airplane for the global market."
