Hampson Aerospace has increased its workshare on the HondaJet programme with a new contract to supply ailerons on the business jet, which is set for certification in the second half of 2012.
The award adds to the international aerospace company's metal horizontal and vertical stabiliser production for Honda, but also gives it the potential for aftermarket revenues since ailerons are replaceable.
Hampson, which calls itself the largest independent tooling company in the world, is providing key tooling and components for other business aircraft as well in addition to air transport and military programmes.
The company provides 2,200 parts in kit form to Airbus, which supplies nose-to-tail parts and subassemblies for the Hawker 750 and 900XP business jets. For Piper Aircraft, Hampson is under contract to supply all jigs and fixtures and assembly tooling for the single-engined PiperJet in Piper's final assembly facility in Vero Beach, Florida.
