I am sure that Mr Lucas (Flight International, 9-15 July) is happier when he gets to Canadian or North Atlantic airspace in that there is the possibility that there are one or two fewer airports there.
When was the last time he was vectored to a land and hold short on a last-minute allocated runway over the ocean? I'd be interested to hear which half dozen airports he finds superior.
