Harris (stand 431, Hall A) is demonstrating its advanced sensor products, which have been developed for unattended border intrusion detection and surveillance.
Its Falcon Watch system uses seismic and magnetic sensors to detect vehicles and pedestrians. Passive infrared (IR) detectors are also used to look for tell-tale heat signatures.
The system also includes the RF-5405 intelligent gateway and RF-5400 Falcon II sensor node.
George Helm, vice-president, growth programmes, at Harris, says: “With an increasing number of frontline operators worldwide, military forces are challenged to keep vigilant watch all around them. Our system enables commanders to apply the latest technology to the task of gathering data remotely with reduced risk to personnel.”
Harris also offers a range of HF, VHF and UHF radio equipment for military use. Recent contract wins include a $12 million contract for HF radios for the Danish ministry of defence, a $5 million contract for multi-band radios for the Netherlands ministry of defence, and a $205 million contract with the US Marine Corps for HF and multi-band tactical radios and support.
