Hawaiian Airlines has brokered a $500 million deal with Delta TechOps covering support of its new Airbus A330-200s and extending its current pact covering the carrier's Boeing 767 fleet.

The third-party services contract with Delta covers line and component maintenance, inventory purchasing and support and maintenance planning and scheduling. Other elemens of the deal include engineering support and contractor management.

Hawaiian is due to take delivery of three leased aircraft in 2010, followed by six firm-order A330s through 2014.

Delta CEO Richard Anderson tells employees the Airbus technical expertise gained through Northwest, "serves as another benefit of the merger". Delta and Northwest merged in October of 2008, expanding TechOps' maintenance capabilities into Airbus aircraft.
