Australia's Hawker Pacific is buying New Zealand helicopter repair and overhaul company Wing and Rotor. The acquisition, for an undisclosed sum, is part of Hawker Pacific's strategy to expand its presence in New Zealand and grow its rotary-wing business. Hawker Pacific, which is also the sales representative for Bell Helicopter Textron and Bell/Agusta in Bahrain, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates and Oman, sees the helicopter market as a key growth area in Asia-Pacific. The acquisition includes Heli Rotor, which is New Zealand's only Civil Aviation Authority-approved rotor blade repair and overhaul shop.
