Australian aircraft sales and product support company Hawker Pacific is expanding its Malaysian operation with the opening of a product support service centre at Subang's Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah airport.
Hawker Pacific already operates the Skypark VIP lounge and fixed-base operation at the airport in a joint venture with ExecuJet.
John Riggir, Hawker Pacific senior vice-president Asia, says the product support service centre is a natural development of its sales and support activities in the country. It adds that it is a response to growing demand for a local original equipment manufacturer-approved service centre to support business aircraft and special mission operators.
"Development of 'national' product support capabilities in the growing Asian economies is an integral part of Hawker Pacific's strategy. It is also an essential element in the promotion of corporate aviation within the region," says chief executive Alan Smith.
As well as an extensive FBO, sales and product support operation within Australia, Hawker Pacific operates FBOs in Singapore and Malaysia and is developing an FBO and maintenance facilities at China's Shanghai Hongquiao airport. It also has sales and product support operations in the Philippines, Thailand and Indonesia.
