The French National Assembly's defence committee has defeated a finance committee proposal to cancel a planned Fr1.8 billion purchase of two Northrop Grumman E-C2 Hawkeye early-warning aircraft for use by the French navy. The finance committee had recommended the purchase of an additional one or two Boeing E-3F Sentry airborne warning and control system aircraft for the air force.
