China Airlines has contracted aircraft interiors specialist Heath Tecna US to retrofit nine of its Boeing 747-400 aircraft with the firm's 'NuLook' interior.
The programme work scope consists of upgrading Zones A-B of the 747s with a contemporary style interior architecture and obtaining a supplemental type certificate (STC) for the NuLook installation, says Heath Tecna US.
New components include larger pivot bins, outboard bin doors with bullnose panel assemblies, end caps, gap covers, light valances/shields, gull wing ceiling panels and transition panels, adds the company.
Separately, Heath Tecna US reveals it is supporting British Airways' launch of a new first class cabin on long-haul aircraft by supplying and certifying the sidewalls according to FAA and EASA requirements.
Each double window sidewall panel features personal electronic blinds, accent washlights, and a transparent fascia panel with a decorative frame treatment, says the firm.
Heath Tecna US is responsible for providing BA with 35 shipsets of the unique sidewall assemblies for their Boeing 747-400s and 38 shipsets for their 777-200/-300ER airplanes.
