The Helicopter Association International's Heli-Expo 2004 exhibition in Las Vegas, Nevada on 15-17 March was far more upbeat than any show in recent memory as a stronger US economy and weaker dollar boosted operators and manufacturers alike. The potential to sell commercial off-the-shelf helicopters to the US Army was the talk of the event, despite warning signs that the funding windfall from the Comanche cancellation may be diverted to other US defence needs.
