McAlpine Helicopters has handed over the seventh UK police-configured the Eurocopter EC135T1 helicopter to the Suffolk Constabulary. The newly formed air support unit will initially use the light twin for crew training before the helicopter enters full operational service in early October. The Oxford-based Eurocopter distributor and completion centre plans to get a further five EC135s "into public service over the next 18 months" and up to 24 aircraft in the medium term.
