Rafael's TopLite electro-optical sensor system is undergoing acceptance testing on the Italian army's AgustaWestland AW129 attack helicopter.
TopLite is intended to serve as the main targeting system for the helicopter, which will also carry the company's Spike anti-tank missiles.
The system enables day or night observation, target detection, recognition and identification through sensors including daylight, forward-looking infrared and laser rangefinder. It also features manual and automatic target tracking modes.
Rafael offers TopLite as a standalone system, or as part of a weapons package that also includes its Spike missile family. The software can also be integrated with an aircraft's radar, navigation and electronic warfare systems.
