Minnesota’s Department of Natural Resources has received a new MD Helicopters MD500E light-single for use by its enforcement division.

It joins an eight-strong fleet of fixed- and rotary-wing assets which perform a variety of missions supporting the environment, across more than 5.5 million acres of managed land.

“I expect this helicopter to be a great addition to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources’ fleet, and to play a critical role in helping us meet our ongoing commitments to conserve and manage the state's natural resources,” says Tom Buker, chief pilot for the enforcement division.

Powered by a Rolls-Royce M250-C20B engine, the helicopter also features a Garmin G500H glass cockpit, 80 litre (21 US gallons) auxiliary fuel tank and a searchlight.

The department ordered the helicopter in November.
