Russian Helicopters intends to begin certification trials of its late-running Kamov Ka-62 medium-twin in early 2018, leading to certification and service entry in 2020.
A pair of flight-test articles have now been produced by Progress Aresenyev Aviation, with the first of these having performed a 15min maiden sortie in May 2017.
The second example was unveiled to delegates at the third Eastern Economic Forum, held in the Russian city of Vladivostok on 6 September.
First flight of the 6.5t Ka-62 was originally scheduled for 2013, but repeated, and unexplained, delays have held up its progress.
The Ka-62 is powered by two Safran Helicopter Engines Turbomeca Ardiden 3G powerplants.
