The Japanese coast guard has ordered three Airbus Helicopters H225s.
The helicopters will be used for security enforcement, coastal activities and disaster relief missions, Airbus Helicopters says.
The agency has five H225s, with a sixth to be delivered in 2018. The new order will take the coast guard's fleet to nine by February 2020.
Olivier Tillier, managing director of Airbus Helicopters in Japan, says: “The Japan coast guard has been operating helicopters from the Super Puma family for 25 years, and this H225 follow-on order illustrates our customer’s confidence in our product and the dedicated support we have provided to the team over the years.”
