Rostec and Avicopter are making progress toward a contract signing in regard to the pair's planned Advanced Heavy Lifter (AHL) helicopter.
"Negotiations on the conceptual model and configuration have been completed," says Rostec's director for international cooperation and regional policy Victor Kladov.
"At present, the draft contract between the parties is being prepared. We hope to sign the contract before the end of the year."
Rostec unit Russian Helicopters is "actively negotiating with our Chinese partners," he adds.
As envisaged, the AHL will be the world's largest helicopter. It will have a maximum take-off weight of 38.2 tonnes, and be able to carry 10t internally and 15t externally.
It will be able to operate in all weather and terrain conditions. Key missions include transportation, medical evacuation, and fire fighting.
