Cyprus Airways' new Greek airline Hellas Jet has launched services from Athens using three Airbus A320s. The Cypriot flag carrier owns a 49% stake in the carrier, with two Greek banks holding the remainder. Hellas Jet, which has leased three new 148-seat International Aero Engines V2500-powered A320s from CIT Aerospace, was set up after Cyprus Airways failed in its bid to be involved in the privatisation of Olympic Airways. The airline is serving Paris twice daily and operating 13 weekly flights to Brussels. London and Zurich are served daily. Hellas Jet plans to add around 10 destinations over two years.
