The Israeli air force has begun training its Hermes 450 unmanned air vehicle operators using a new mission trainer developed by platform supplier Elbit Systems. Comprising instructor, operator and debriefing stations, the system allows operators to practise missions, including those using “irregular” routes and weather conditions. The trainer can be adapted for use with any type of UAV, says Elbit.
