Honeywell expects civil turbine helicopter deliveries to remain flat over the next five years as a result of "continued soft economic growth in key markets, lingering tight credit conditions, high inventories of used current production models for sale and weak new order intake".

In its 12th annual helicopter purchase outlook the avionics and engine manufacturer says between 3,750 and 4,250 aircraft will be delivered between 2010 and 2014.

"Overall, helicopter deliveries last year fell by 16% - below peak 2008 levels - and are expected to decline further in 2010 and 2011 as backlogs depleted over the past year will not support sustained deliveries until order rates recover significantly," says Honeywell.
