Honeywell has launched a software package that can turn flight data recorder information into an animated movie.
The company (Hall A/712) has formed a marketing agreement to offer SimAuthor's FlightViz software along with Honeywell's Aircraft Data Recovery and Analysis System (ADRAS).
Together, the two programmes can recreate a flight on a computer monitor. Different parts of the screen can show the flight path on aviation charts, performance characteristics of the aircraft and a computer visualisation of the flight.
The visualisation can show various phases of flight, such as the aircraft approaching an airport, descending to the runway and touching down.
