Grob Aerospace has selected Honeywell’s Ovation C cabin network for its SPn all-composite light business jet.

Predecessor to the top-of-the line Ovation E, which is on show here in Honeywell’s own Gulfstream G450, Ovation C has been upgraded to include some features of the all-digital E-series such as passenger control units, which now feature LED screens that are highly readable and reliable.

In the SPn the Ovation C network will provide control of the in-flight entertainment and all cabin, galley and lavatory systems. Optional in-flight entertainment functions in the new Grob will include DVD/CD players, a switch panel for each passenger, XM Satellite Radio and docking for MP3 players.

Operators will be able to choose between a single 10.4in (264mm) master screen mounted on the right-hand forward bulkhead or 8.4in “hot plug” screens and individual controls and headphone jacks for each passenger.

Honeywell is also supplying its JetMap II moving-map and passenger information system, which can be used to deliver high-resolution maps, safety briefings, weather information and live news. The last can be uploaded anywhere in the world via the optional AirSat II Iridium satellite communications receiver.
