A hot-and-high trials programme for the Perm PS-90A-powered Tupolev Tu-204 airliner was completed in Iran in July. Clearance should pave the way for full Russian certification to be awarded, following the limited approval it received in late 1994. The aircraft has been equipped with a modified version of the PS-90A, which has had several design changes incorporated to eliminate problems experienced by earlier models. The Iranian trials apparently generated considerable interest in the Tu-204.
