NASA has released a spectacular image of the Eskimo nebula, 5,000 light years from Earth, taken by the Hubble Space Telescope (HST). The HST was brought back into service by the crew of STS103 Discovery in December. The Eskimo nebula, the glowing remains of a star about 10,000 years old, is a disc of material embellished with a ring of comet-shaped objects streaming away from the central dying star.
