Hughes Command and Control Systems has won a four-year, $48 million deal under subcontract from Thomson-CSF Airsys, to design, integrate, test and operate an air-defence communications subsystem for NATO and the Portuguese air force.
Hughes begins work this month and will run the subsystem until the Portuguese air force takes control of the entire air-defence system in 2000.
